Keys are exactly what I wanted and no matter the dents that the delivery service put in to the box, it was packaged so well the keyboard had no scratches
I wanted to make a totally silent keyboard so I wouldn't disturb my wife—so I ordered an AJAZZ AK870, which seemed like an excellent choice in an inexpensive hot-swap TKL.
The keyboard is great. The "switch switching" was easy, and everything works fine. However, AJAZZ's shipping leaves something to be desired.
Rather than using an outer box, they simply shipped the AK870 in a "padded" envelope (I'm putting "padded" in quotes, because it didn't help).
The package was obviously dropped at some point, because one end of the box was smashed in. Fortunately, the foam inserts kept the keyboard safe, but the box is quite ugly on my keyboard shelf, and there's not much I can do about it.
I emailed AJAZZ, but they never answered. They did (automatically) send me this feedback invitation, though, so here I am. 🤷♂️
I could understand if an inexperienced third-party vendor failed to ship things properly. But the manufacturer itself, sending their fragile electronics halfway around the world in flimsy envelopes? They're trying to cut costs, obviously—but when your product arrives looking like it fell off of a loading dock, something isn't right. 🤷♂️ I guess I'll order from Amazon or Aliexpress next time.
